Bring out Nostalgia with intent!!!!

Bring out Nostalgia with intent......

Prajakta Sachin Bhide

It is said that,’ Old school friends carry a time traveler with them. They relive the old memories of shared benches, mischief laid corridors, laughter that echoed as the teacher turned to scribble something on the black board and dreams that were once too big to name.

On one such starry night my school friends reunited after a long spell to realise it was not only nostalgic to rewind these memories but our discussion led us to have nostalgia with intent.

A casual get together evolved into something deeper: a shared desire to give back to society. Conversations shifted from ‘remember when’ to ‘what we can do now.’ Out of this collective reflection was born a new initiative — Kimayagaar - the change makers - one that reimagined learning itself.

We reimagined a classroom beyond walls, curricula, or examinations. We tried to create it as a living space of curiosity, exploration, and storytelling. A place where learning felt natural again. A place where wisdom was not memorized, but experienced.

At the heart of this initiative was the belief that our ancient knowledge systems still hold immense relevance for young minds. The stories, insights, and discoveries of our ancient gurus were not relics of the past—rather formed the basis of the modern discoveries and inventions.

One such luminary was Acharya Pingala, whose work astonished young learners when introduced in a fresh and engaging way. His exploration of patterns and numbers—often associated today with the Fibonacci series—was presented not as a formula, but as a story. A story of rhythm, growth, and harmony found in nature, poetry, music and numbers.

Suddenly the fear of numbers disappeared. An abstract concept got transformed into a design masterpiece. A hidden rhythm emerged with several permutations and combinations weaving a harmonious melody and new stories were created merely by numbers!

Story of Acharya Pingala through wisdom wifi series brought out a multidisciplinary approach and showed young minds that knowledge is interconnected and deeply human. The true legacy of thinkers like Acharya Pingala lives on when their insights inspire creativity, problem-solving, and thoughtful engagement with the world.

Dear educators, when old friends come together with shared purpose and clear intent, they can create spaces where the past illuminates the future. Spaces where education is not preparation for life—but life itself, unfolding with curiosity, compassion, and wisdom.

Go try it out with your reunited friends !!!!
